The biomass green methanol project plans to construct a green methanol production facility with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, including core units such as hydrogen production by water electrolysis, air separation, pressurized oxygen circulating fluidized bed gasification, acid gas removal, sulfur recovery, and methanol synthesis and distillation. It will also be equipped with supporting public utilities, storage and transportation facilities, and environmental protection engineering. Upon completion, the project is expected to produce 100,000 tons of green methanol and 754 tons of sulfur paste annually. The total investment is approximately 1,427.3987 million yuan, of which the environmental protection investment is 21.64 million yuan, accounting for 1.52% of the total investment.
The advancement of this biomass green methanol project will help enhance Lanzhou New Area's layout in the renewable energy sector and provide support for the development of the green chemical industry. With the approval of the environmental impact assessment, the project has taken an important step in terms of environmental compliance. It will subsequently enter the substantive construction phase and is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and environmental benefits.
