The masterplan, set to be developed over two and a half years, will provide detailed frameworks and guidelines for the planning, design, implementation, and operation of public transit services. It will include specific policies, regulations, and a monitoring system to ensure effective execution. The initiative seeks to enhance public health, economic prosperity, and access to efficient transit options for Qatar’s residents.

Egis emphasized that the plan will move beyond traditional approaches to create integrated transport networks that connect communities and foster sustainable growth. The project is designed to assist policymakers, government officials, developers, investors, consultants, engineers, and planners in aligning with Qatar’s vision for modern, eco-friendly infrastructure.

Muhammad Mustafa, Egis’ director of mobility and planning for the Middle East and South Asia, stated: “We aim to create integrated networks that bridge people, places, and possibilities while serving as the backbone of sustainable growth and societal advancement.” He added: “Our team’s legacy spans the entire lifecycle of transport innovation – from ideation to operational excellence – therefore, we are more than ready to deliver transport infrastructure solutions rooted in precision and scalability.”

The masterplan responds to Qatar’s rapid urban expansion, prioritizing green commitments to mitigate environmental impacts. By establishing a robust public transport system, the initiative aims to improve mobility, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance the quality of life for residents. The frameworks will support scalable solutions tailored to the country’s evolving needs.

This collaboration between Egis and Qatar’s Ministry of Transport reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable infrastructure. The masterplan’s development will involve close coordination with stakeholders to ensure alignment with national goals, positioning Qatar as a leader in innovative public transit solutions in the region.
