Israel will begin exporting an additional 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Egypt this month via the Jordan pipeline. In addition to the existing Ashkelon El Arish pipeline, the new route will boost gas shipments to Egypt by more than 50%
The Israeli Ministry of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources has noted that the deal will provide an economic boost and strengthen relations between the African and middle Eastern countries in the Eastern Mediterranean.
