BayWa RE has acquired German company Kaiserwetter’s IoT, asset intelligence, and data science capabilities, bolstering its digital asset operations.

The deal includes the latter’s Aristoteles and Iris software platforms, as well as the entirety of Kaiserwetter’s software development and data science teams based in Hamburg, Germany.

Aristoteles is a cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence platform designed to maximise the performance of renewable energy investment portfolios. Iris is a smart data analytics machine delivering insights and reports for due diligence, asset performance and upside potential identification.

The acquisition underlines BayWa RE’s commitment to its digital roadmap and to continue to push the envelope of asset intelligence for the renewable energy industry, the company said.

“This acquisition is another important milestone on the digital transformation of renewable energy operations,” said Tobias Bittkau, BayWa RE global director of services.

“Combining Aristoteles and Iris with BayWa RE’s resources, our existing expertise and solutions into one seamless platform will enable efficiency, transparency and value for asset owners and managers globally.”
