Kempower, PowerUp America Open 800-kW EV Charging Site in Kentucky

03 Jul 2026

Kempower and PowerUp America have opened a four-dispenser, 800-kW electric vehicle charging site in Manchester, Kentucky, marking the first location in the companies’ planned Southeast buildout.

The charging station, located at 425 KY-80, is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It features four Kempower Flex Satellite dispensers equipped with both NACS and CCS1 connectors, allowing drivers to charge without an adapter regardless of vehicle brand. The site offers up to 800 kW of available charging power.

Designed for both local drivers and highway travelers in Eastern Kentucky, the station includes pull-through access and covered charging bays. Kempower said the layout was developed with driver comfort and ease of use in mind, in addition to charging speed.

The Manchester station is the first of 12 PowerUp and Kempower projects. Eleven additional sites are currently under development across Georgia, expanding the companies’ footprint beyond the Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky contracts announced last fall.

Kempower and PowerUp will hold a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Manchester site on July 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. ET.
