India has commissioned around 8,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green hydrogen productioncapacity under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) till February 2026, marking a steadyramp-up towards its ambitious target of 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) per annum by 2030.
Funding under the mission has been gradually ramped up, with INR 100 crore allocated in FY24(utilisation INR 0.11 crore), INR 300 crore in FY25 (utilisation INR 46.26 crore), and INR 300 crore inFY26 (utilisation INR 203.75 crore as of March 19, 2026), Minister of State for Ministry of New andRenewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, shared in the Rajya Sabha.
