CNPC Chairman Dai Houliang Meets with Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister Agazhanov

Dai Houliang, Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), met with Serdar Agazhanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on strengthening cooperation in the natural gas sector.

Agazhanov noted that Turkmenistan-China natural gas cooperation is strategic and is of high importance to the top leaders of both countries. The two sides have jointly built exemplary energy cooperation projects such as the Amu Darya Right Bank project and the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline, which have played a significant role in the stable economic and social development of Turkmenistan. CNPC is a technologically reliable and trustworthy partner, providing advanced solutions and technical service support for project construction. He expressed hope that both sides would continue to deepen cooperation in the natural gas sector, jointly promote industrial prosperity, share development achievements, build bridges of friendship, and make new contributions to enhancing the well-being of the peoples of both countries.

Dai Houliang stated that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' heads of state, China-Turkmenistan energy cooperation has a solid foundation and broad prospects. Both sides have always adhered to the principles of mutual respect, mutual understanding, and mutual accommodation, actively responding to uncertainties in the external environment with the certainty of their own cooperation. CNPC will earnestly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, leverage the complementary advantages of both sides' resources and markets, promote the continuous deepening and solidification of China-Turkmenistan natural gas cooperation, and contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Turkmenistan and elevating bilateral energy cooperation to a higher level.

CNPC Vice Presidents Zhang Daowei and Song Dayong, General Counsel Zhao Ying, and Assistant General Manager Li Qiang attended the meeting.
