According to the project plan, LS Cable & System will be responsible for designing and laying a 132 kV submarine power cable, which will significantly enhance the stability of Langkawi Island's power grid. The company stated that it will oversee the entire process of the submarine cable project, including system design, material procurement, manufacturing, and installation.
In a statement, LS Cable & System said: "The key to securing this €35 million contract lies in our successful execution experience from previous projects in Langkawi. This further solidifies our position in the Asia-Pacific power infrastructure market." The company also recently entered into a strategic partnership with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to jointly promote the global application of high-voltage direct current transmission technology.
Once completed, this submarine power cable will improve the quality of power supply to Langkawi Island, supporting local socio-economic development. The implementation of this submarine cable project also demonstrates the technical cap
abilities of Korean companies in the field of international power grid engineering construction.
