Slovenia's net electricity output falls 2% y/y in Nov

Compared with the previous month, net electricity output increased 63%, the statistical office said in a statement, citing provisional data on Monday.

In November, the output of the country's hydropower plants rose by 10% year-on-year, to 374 GWh. It was higher by 17% on a monthly comparison basis.

The output of Slovenia's thermal power plants totalled 373 GWh in November, down 18% on an annual comparison basis and higher by 7.0% month-on-month.

The electricity production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant Krsko came in at 504 GWh in November, and was flat year-on-year. Krsko was offline for a scheduled overhaul from September 28 to October 28 this year.

The production of solar and wind energy stood at 64 GWh in November, up 51% in annual terms and 41% lower on a monthly basis.

In November, Slovenia imported 787 GWh of electricity and exported 908 GWh. On an annual comparison basis, both imports and exports decreased 7.0%. Imports went declined 27% compared to October, while exports increased 26%.

Nuclear energy had a 38.4% share of Slovenia's total power production in November, followed by thermal and hydro energy, with a share of 28.4% each, and solar and wind power with a 4.8% share.
