SIPG Picks New Chairman

Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) has appointed Yu Fulin as its new chairman, the company announced on Thursday.

Yu Fulin was elected chairman by the SIPG board through a unanimous vote. He will also take on the role of chairman of the strategy committee.

Yu Fulin, a senior engineer born in March 1967, previously served as head of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission. He currently holds positions as a member of the 12th Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and a representative to the 12th Shanghai Municipal Congress of the CCP.

He succeeds Gu Jinshan, who stepped down from his positions as chairman and director on July 11 this year due to legal age limits. During the transition period, SIPG president Song Xiaodong assumed interim responsibility for those duties.

The company first recommended Yu Fulin for the chairman position on November 10.

SIPG operates the public terminals at the Port of Shanghai, one of the world's busiest ports. The appointment aligns with ongoing efforts to maintain efficient management and support the port's continued development in container handling, logistics, and related services.

Yu Fulin brings extensive experience in transport infrastructure and urban mobility from his prior role, which is expected to contribute to SIPG's strategic planning and operational priorities.
