KGTML is responsible for investing in the design and construction of a highly efficient, food-grade terminal. The facility will include advanced handling systems, a conveyor line, and essential infrastructure and utilities. Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has committed to handling dry agricultural cargo at this new terminal. This new investment is in addition to the previously announced $75 million allocated for the first phase of KGTML's development.
The companies involved stated that the new terminal will significantly reduce cargo handling time, improve logistics resilience, and maintain the quality of stored products in compliance with international standards. This development is expected to enhance the efficiency of agricultural product handling at the Port of Karachi.
In addition to the agricultural terminal, AD Ports Group is also working on the development of the KGTL container terminal at the same port. The company highlighted that Pakistan plays a key role as a transport hub in the Middle Corridor, a critical route connecting China and Europe.
AD Ports Group operates port and logistics infrastructure in the UAE, while Louis Dreyfus Company is a global leader in the trading and processing of agricultural commodities. This partnership reflects the growing importance of Pakistan as a strategic link in global trade and logistics.
