On September 26, 2025, Changan Mazda introduced the MAZDA EZ-60, its first global strategic new energy SUV, in China. The mid-size crossover, available in six trims, offers both battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) options, with prices ranging from 119,900 yuan to 160,900 yuan.

The EZ-60 features advanced technology, including the world’s first 4nm automotive-grade chip, which provides 1.6 times the computing power of the mainstream SA8155 chip. “The EZ-60 debuts the world’s first 4nm automotive-grade chip, delivering 39ms voice response and improving complex dialogue accuracy by 55%,” Changan Mazda stated. A 100-inch glasses-free 3D head-up display (HUD) projects navigation directly onto the road and can switch to a 3D cinematic mode for an enhanced user experience.

The BEV model is equipped with a 78-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, delivering a 600 km range under the CLTC standard. The REEV version combines a 31.7-kWh battery, offering 200 km of electric-only range, with a 1.5L high-compression engine (16:1 ratio), achieving a combined range exceeding 1,100 km. The vehicle supports 3C fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% charge in 15 minutes or a 100-km range boost in 5 minutes. A low-temperature pulse heating system improves cold-weather charging efficiency by 15%.

For driver assistance, the EZ-60 integrates an L2 system with an 8-megapixel camera, surround-view cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. It offers over 19 active safety features, including highway and city navigation assist, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic emergency braking effective up to 80 km/h.

The SUV’s interior includes a 26.45-inch panoramic display with a 32:9 ratio, supporting immersive video and gaming experiences. Measuring 4,850 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height with a 2,902 mm wheelbase, the EZ-60 rivals vehicles like the Tesla Model Y in size. Its design incorporates Mazda’s Kodo styling, featuring a sleek profile, LED lighting, and retractable door handles.

The EZ-60, built on Changan’s EPA1 platform, has garnered significant interest, with over 40,000 pre-orders since its debut at Auto Shanghai in April 2025. Changan Mazda plans to export the model globally as the Mazda CX-6e starting in 2026, expanding its new energy vehicle lineup.
