On July 9, 2025, BYD celebrated two significant achievements at its Rayong plant in Thailand: the delivery of its 90,000th new energy vehicle (NEV) in the country and the first anniversary of the plant’s operations. During a ceremony, the 90,000th NEV, a DENZA D9, was handed over to a customer, while the first locally assembled Destroyer 05 rolled off the production line, signaling its upcoming launch in the Thai market.

Since entering Thailand three years ago, BYD has established itself as a leader in the region’s NEV market, reflecting strong consumer confidence in its diverse vehicle lineup. The milestone of 90,000 vehicles underscores the success of collaborative efforts between China and Thailand to promote sustainable mobility solutions.

The introduction of the Destroyer 05 to local production expands BYD’s offerings in Thailand, catering to varied transportation needs, from urban commuting to family and premium travel. The Rayong plant, a key smart manufacturing hub with an annual capacity of 150,000 units, has achieved full production localization and continues to enhance its supply chain integration.

BYD’s “global manufacturing + local penetration” strategy has driven its success in Thailand, with the delivery of the 90,000th NEV highlighting its effective implementation. The local production of the Destroyer 05 strengthens BYD’s position in the Southeast Asian plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) market while supporting its growth in both PHEV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) segments.

The company plans to introduce additional tailored products to meet Thailand’s diverse market demands, further solidifying its leadership in green mobility. The Rayong plant’s achievements demonstrate BYD’s commitment to sustainable innovation and its role in advancing Thailand’s transition to clean energy transportation.
