Sekisui Chemical Co. Ltd., based in Tokyo, Japan, has announced plans to construct a new injection-molding facility in Pune, Maharashtra, India, through its joint venture, Sekisui DLJM Molding Pvt. Ltd. This will mark the sixth plant for the company in India, dedicated to manufacturing and supplying injection-molded products for the automotive industry. The investment for the new facility is approximately $3 million, with operations scheduled to commence in January 2026.

Sekisui DLJM Molding Pvt. Ltd. was established in August 2011 as a collaboration with Dipty Lal Judge Mal Private Limited, a local company in India. Since its inception, the joint venture has expanded its operations, driven by the growing demand for automotive components in the region. The decision to build a new plant in Pune aligns with the area’s concentration of automobile manufacturers and its potential for continued growth.

The new facility is expected to boost Sekisui DLJM’s production capacity in India by approximately 15%, enabling the company to meet increasing market demands and further strengthen its presence in the automotive sector. This expansion reflects Sekisui Chemical’s commitment to supporting the rising motorization trend in India.

A spokesperson for Sekisui Chemical stated: “The establishment of this new injection-molding plant in Pune will enhance our ability to serve the automotive industry in India, where we see significant growth opportunities.”
