The CSSC-affiliated Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding recently also secured orders from Turkey’s Arkas Line for four firm and two optional 3,100 teu vessels, demonstrating its growing prominence in the shipbuilding industry. NBOSCO, ranked 24th on Alphaliner’s list of top container carriers, currently operates 86 ships and has 10 newbuilds on order, not including the recently contracted sub-panamax quartet.
In May 2024, NBOSCO expanded its fleet by ordering two all-electric 740 teu feeder vessels from Jiangsu Haitong, highlighting its commitment to sustainable maritime solutions. The new 2,700 teu vessels from Huangpu Wenchong further strengthen NBOSCO’s capacity to meet rising demand in the container shipping market.
This strategic investment enhances NBOSCO’s operational capabilities and supports the broader development of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Group, a key player in global maritime logistics. The addition of these vessels aligns with the company’s focus on modernizing its fleet to ensure efficiency and reliability in container transport services.
