On April 27, 2025, Dongfeng Nissan introduced its first mid-to-high-end pure electric sedan, the N7, with prices ranging from 119,900 yuan to 149,900 yuan across five trim levels. Built on the innovative "Tianyan Architecture," the N7 offers a driving range exceeding 600 kilometers and features an advanced intelligent driving system developed in collaboration with Momenta.

The N7, a mid-to-large-size electric sedan, measures 4,930 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915 mm. Its exterior design includes a closed front grille integrated with a full-width LED light bar, featuring 710 high-brightness LED units in the headlights and 882 OLED units in the taillights for customizable lighting. Hidden door handles, frameless doors, and an aerodynamic body achieve a drag coefficient of 0.208 Cd.

The interior boasts a wraparound cockpit with two color options: light gray or a dual-tone forest green and snow white. A 15.6-inch 2.5K high-definition touchscreen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor with 32GB RAM and 256GB storage, anchors the center console. The AI-powered seating system, equipped with 49 pressure sensors, adjusts support dynamically and offers heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Additional features include a 5.8-liter dual-zone refrigerator, 50W wireless fast charging, and a 256-color ambient lighting system.

Ian Simms, head of consents for the project, stated: “This is our third round of public consultation events, which commenced in 2023 and have enabled us to hear the views of local people across a range of topics including design, interaction with existing uses of the land and sea, and how the local area could benefit from the project. Feedback received has enabled us to progress our plans and has informed our preferred landfall point, the onshore cable route, the onshore substation site, and our planned offshore scheme. In this time our project team has also completed our offshore surveys and submitted both offshore and onshore scoping reports to the Scottish Government and to Aberdeenshire Council. This third round of events will allow us to share our latest proposals prior to us submitting our onshore planning application to Aberdeenshire Council later this year. We are also sharing details of our proposed offshore development, for which an application will be submitted to the Marine Directorate in the summer. We’d be delighted to see as many people as possible attend these events.”

For intelligent driving, the N7 employs a single NVIDIA Orin-X chip with a vision-based system, supporting highway pilot assistance, urban navigation, and full-scenario automatic parking. It handles complex scenarios like high-speed lane changes, construction detours, unprotected urban turns, and tight parking spaces, with memory parking and remote summon capabilities.

The N7’s powertrain includes two single-motor options (160 kW or 200 kW) paired with a 58 kWh or 73 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a CLTC-rated range of 510 km to 635 km. Its 14-in-1 electric drive system, with a motor speed of 25,100 rpm, includes an intelligent thermal management system that boosts winter range by 15%. The 800V platform enables a 400 km range recharge in 7 minutes, while the 400V platform takes 19 minutes. The chassis features a front MacPherson and rear multi-link suspension, enhanced by an anti-motion sickness system.
