Solar park in Germany.
The larger of the two projects, Lohnweiler, will involve the construction of a 20-MW photovoltaic farm in the Kusel district, approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Kaiserslautern. JUWI has already obtained a building permit for the project and plans to begin construction in May, with the facility potentially becoming operational in November.
In addition to Lohnweiler, JUWI will also install a 10.9-MW solar park in Rhineland-Palatinate’s Sudwestpfalz district. This project, named Truppacherhof, will cover an area of 10 hectares. A construction permit for this project was submitted in February.
The tender was organized by the Federal Network Agency under the EEG scheme and was heavily oversubscribed. The agency awarded a total of 2,625 MW of projects from a pool of 3,839 MW of submitted bids. The average award price for the winning projects was EUR 0.0466 (USD 0.0569) per kWh, which represents a slight decline from the previous tender round, where the price stood at EUR 0.0476 per kWh.
This successful tender outcome highlights JUWI's continued expansion in the renewable energy sector in Germany, with both projects contributing to the country’s growing capacity for clean energy generation.
