Faurecia, a global leader in automotive technology, operates over 90 facilities, including factories, technical centers, and R&D hubs across more than 30 cities in China. Renowned for its expertise in automotive component manufacturing and sustainable practices, Faurecia is committed to reducing logistics-related carbon emissions by 20% by 2030, compared to 2019 levels, and was the first automotive technology company worldwide to receive Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) certification for net-zero emissions.
JD Logistics, a prominent technology-driven supply chain provider in China, manages a nationwide smart warehousing network and offers integrated logistics solutions. As the first Chinese logistics company certified by SBTi, JD Logistics aims to halve its full-scope carbon emissions by 2030 from a 2019 baseline. Its SCEMP (Supply Chain Emission Management Platform) enables precise carbon tracking across warehousing, transportation, packaging, and recycling, supporting nearly 100 partners with digital carbon management tools.
The agreement emphasizes sustainable practices as a shared priority. JD Logistics will provide Faurecia with green logistics solutions, utilizing its new energy vehicle fleet, optimized routing, and eco-friendly warehousing technologies to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness. A representative from JD Logistics stated: “Carbon reduction is a shared vision for JD Logistics and Faurecia, both of whom treat sustainability as a core strategic priority.”
The partnership also includes joint efforts in intelligent carbon management. By leveraging JD Logistics’ SCEMP platform, the companies will monitor and manage carbon emissions from Faurecia’s logistics and warehousing operations. This involves developing a carbon emissions factor database and implementing real-time tracking to ensure accurate, full-chain carbon accounting. These measures will support Faurecia’s emission reduction targets through data-driven strategies.
This collaboration aims to drive innovation in the automotive supply chain, combining Faurecia’s manufacturing expertise with JD Logistics’ advanced logistics capabilities. By integrating green technologies and digital tools, the partnership seeks to enhance sustainability across the industry, contributing to a low-carbon future while meeting operational demands.
