The solar farms will be built in Victoria and NSW.
The Lancaster solar farm, located in Victoria, will have a capacity of 106MW, while the Mulwala solar farm in New South Wales will generate 31MW. Both facilities are scheduled to begin operations in 2026, producing approximately 255 gigawatt-hours (GWh) annually. This energy output is sufficient to power around 54,000 Australian households with clean electricity.
Under the agreements, Ingeteam will deliver 77 inverters from its INGECON SUN Power B Series for the two projects. These will be integrated into 22 medium-voltage transformer stations at the sites. Additionally, Ingeteam will provide control electronics to ensure efficient operation of the solar plants.
These contracts strengthen Ingeteam’s presence in Australia’s solar industry. Operating a subsidiary in North Wollongong for over a decade, the company holds approximately 25% of the local solar market. Ingeteam is known for its technical expertise, assisting developers with the complex requirements for grid integration.
Jorge Guillén, Ingeteam Australia’s photovoltaic and storage sector sales manager, stated: “This is the first project we have carried out for this client, which has placed its trust in Ingeteam because of our technical capacity and proven solvency in the more than 4GW supplied in the country. We are very proud to contribute to the electrification of Australia, decarbonising its energy matrix.”
Ingeteam’s role extends beyond Australia. In August 2024, the company supplied over 1GW of solar power conversion systems and controls for two Acciona Energía projects in the United States, demonstrating its global expertise in renewable energy solutions.
The Lancaster and Mulwala solar farms are key components of Australia’s renewable energy strategy, contributing to a sustainable energy future. Ingeteam’s involvement underscores its commitment to supporting clean energy development through reliable technology and technical support.
