Gautam Solar, an Indian photovoltaic module manufacturer, unveiled a new TOPCon solar module certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) at an event in New Delhi in April 2025. The launch highlights the company’s commitment to advancing solar technology for sustainable energy solutions.

Gautam Solar's TOPCon module

The module, developed with rectangular n-type TOPCon bifacial solar cells, optimizes energy production through enhanced cell packing density and dual-sided light absorption. According to Gautam Solar: “This smart design has a greater active area, which minimizes losses and enhances bifacial gain. It is considered very advantageous for large-scale ground-mounted solar installations, particularly in areas characterized by high albedo conditions.” The design is particularly suited for regions with reflective surfaces, boosting efficiency in utility-scale projects.

Available in five variants, the module delivers power outputs ranging from 620 W to 640 W, with power conversion efficiencies between 22.95% and 23.69%. It features an open-circuit voltage of 48.5 V to 49.3 V and a short-circuit current from 16.16 A to 16.35 A. Measuring 2,382 mm x 1,134 mm x 30 mm and weighing 33.1 kg, the panel includes an IP68-rated junction box, 2.0 mm tempered glass, and an anod Eurized aluminum alloy frame. Its temperature coefficient is -0.29%/C, ensuring stable performance in varying climates.

Gautam Solar emphasized the module’s durability: “The panel performs better; lower degradation rates, excellent temperature coefficient, and confirmed higher output even under low-light conditions characterize the module.” These attributes make it resistant to potential-induced degradation (PID), weatherproof, and capable of withstanding significant mechanical loads, ideal for challenging environments.

The product comes with a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, offering long-term reliability for solar installations. Gautam Solar, headquartered in New Delhi, operates manufacturing facilities in Uttarakhand and Haryana. The company plans to expand its solar module production capacity to 5 GW in the fiscal year 2025-26, supporting India’s growing renewable energy demands.

The launch event attracted industry professionals, who noted the module’s potential to enhance large-scale solar projects. Gautam Solar’s innovation aligns with global sustainability goals, providing efficient and robust solutions for clean energy generation.
