Premier Energies Limited has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Seetharampur, Telangana, raising its total capacity to 11.1 GW as trial production begins.
Spanning 75 acres, the plant is expected to create approximately 2,000 jobs and produces G12R Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) modules featuring Zero Busbar (0BB) architecture. The company highlighted that this design enhances energy yield, minimizes optical losses, and improves module durability.
Billed as one of India’s most automated solar manufacturing lines, the facility can produce four G12R TOPCon modules every 16 seconds. It incorporates artificial intelligence (AI)-based fault detection systems to identify and rectify defects during production.
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director, stated the plant represents a step toward establishing a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem, spanning from ingots to modules. Sudhir Reddy, Chief Strategy Officer, emphasized the facility’s alignment with the company’s goal to scale integrated production and bolster supply chain resilience.
Premier Energies is implementing a Rs 12,500 crore capital expenditure program over three years, focusing on capacity expansion, backward integration into ingots and wafers, and diversification into inverters, transformers, and battery systems.
