Technip Energies Outlines Plans for SAF, Green Hydrogen in Egypt

In Cairo, Egypt, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a meeting with Marco Villa, Chief Business Officer of Technip Energies, an Italian company, and his delegation. They were joined by Khaled El Badry, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Projects. The discussion focused on Technip Energies’ current operations in Egypt and its future plans.

Badawi outlined the petroleum sector’s strategy, emphasizing key priorities such as conducting feasibility studies, evaluating project requirements, costs, financing, timelines, and expected outcomes. He reaffirmed the Egyptian government’s commitment to supporting its partners, ensuring they can execute their projects efficiently and address any challenges.

Marco Villa shared Technip Energies’ initiatives to advance sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Egypt, aiming to establish the country as a global leader in this sector. He said: “Our efforts are focused on contributing to the development of sustainable aviation fuel in Egypt, with the goal of positioning the country as one of the world’s leading producers of this type of fuel.”

Villa also discussed the company’s plans to participate in green hydrogen production projects in Egypt, highlighting their commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The meeting underscored the collaborative efforts between Egypt’s petroleum sector and Technip Energies to drive innovation and environmental responsibility in the energy industry.
