The collaboration focuses on three main areas: zero-carbon application scenarios, intelligent energy management, and global supply chain coordination. For zero-carbon scenarios, CATL will utilize its expertise in photovoltaics, energy storage, and battery swapping for heavy-duty trucks, while Jinhua Communications Investment will provide operational resources. They plan to develop an integrated energy network combining solar power, storage, charging, swapping, and inspection systems. This effort will promote clean energy adoption at bus depots and railway ports and support battery swapping stations to enable electrified freight transport.
In terms of energy management, the partners will jointly create a smart energy control system for inland ports, enhancing industrial intelligence and establishing a model for a “zero-carbon smart railway port.” This system aims to optimize energy use and support sustainable operations.
Globally, the partnership will integrate logistics and warehousing resources across the Yangtze River Delta and leverage the China-Europe freight train network within the Belt and Road framework. CATL and Jinhua aim to establish a “zero-carbon logistics corridor” to facilitate the global export of new energy products and equipment, creating an efficient and sustainable supply chain.
This agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and supporting the transition to a zero-carbon industrial landscape, aligning with broader sustainability goals.
