Design and Features
The EV4, built on Kia’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform, features a sleek, aerodynamic fastback design with a low profile. Its exterior includes vertical LED headlights, Kia’s Star Map lighting, and a refreshed Tiger Face grille. The rear showcases vertical taillights and a two-piece spoiler, enhancing its sporty look. Buyers can select 17-inch aero wheels or 19-inch wheels exclusive to the GT-Line trim.
The interior prioritizes comfort and space, with a modern cockpit, high-quality materials, and a two-spoke steering wheel. An available 64-color ambient lighting system adds a personalized touch. The EV4 offers ample room for passengers and cargo, blending practicality with a contemporary design.
Performance and Range
The EV4 provides two battery options: a 58.3 kWh battery with an estimated 235-mile range for the Light trim, and an 81.4 kWh battery offering around 330 miles for the Wind and GT-Line trims. Both use a 150 kW front-mounted electric motor. Charging is efficient, with a 10-to-80% DC fast charge taking approximately 29 minutes for the smaller battery and 31 minutes for the larger one. The vehicle includes a standard NACS charging port located on the front passenger side.
Kia’s i-Pedal 3.0 system enables smooth one-pedal driving, including in reverse, with adaptive regenerative braking. The EV4’s drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd enhances efficiency. Additionally, Vehicle-to-Load capability allows the sedan to power external devices, such as laptops or camping equipment.
Technology and Comfort
The EV4 features nearly 30 inches of widescreen displays, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and customizable interfaces. Kia’s Digital Key 2.0 allows drivers to control locks and climate settings via smartphone. The built-in AI Assistant provides responsive, user-friendly interactions.
Comfort features include dual-zone climate control, optional heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and acoustic windshield glass, ensuring a refined driving experience.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The EV4 comes standard with Highway Driving Assist, which adjusts speed to match posted limits and maintains safe distances from other vehicles. Hands-On Detection monitors steering-wheel grip to promote driver attentiveness. Other features include Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Lane Following Assist. Optional Remote Smart Parking Assist simplifies parking in tight spaces.
Availability
The Kia EV4 will be available in the U.S. starting in early 2026, offered in Light, Wind, and GT-Line trims. “The EV4 combines innovation and practicality, making electric driving accessible and enjoyable,” said a Kia spokesperson at the unveiling.
