July 1 (Renewables Now) - Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has signed its first order for V162-5.6 MW turbines from its EnVentus platform and it comes from a long-time customer in Finland.

TuuliWatti Oy has selected the turbine for the 151-MW Simo Sarvisuo wind farm, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer said on Saturday. The project was among the winners in Finland’s first renewable energy auction.

For this park, Vestas has designed a tower solution with which the hub height reaches 166 metres. The company, for which this is the largest order from Finland to date, will supply, install and commission the turbines. Delivery is seen to start in the third quarter of 2021.

The contract for Vestas also includes a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

The EnVentus platform was launched in January this year with two variants that together cover low, medium and high wind conditions.
