Northland Power, Mitsui and Gentari have installed the first turbine at the third phase of the 1GW Hai Long offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
The developers said the milestone marks entry into a critical construction phase and highlights local offshore wind industrial development.
They added that the turbine nacelle was assembled at Siemens Gamesa’s facility in Taichung and installed offshore by CDWE.
A total of 73 locally assembled nacelles have been completed and are being transported offshore for installation across the project.
The Hai Long project said the installation reflects progress in embedding offshore wind technology and local supply chains in Taiwan.
