Romanian oil and gas major OMV Petrom SA (BSE:SNP) is looking for a company to build a 710-MW solar power complex in Teleorman County, southern Romania.

OMV Petrom last week issued a request for expressions of interest from companies willing to handle the detailed design Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation Pre-commissioning, and commissioning work as well as the operation and maintenance of three photovoltaic (PV) parks located in the villages of Merisani and Babaita in Babaita commune.

Interested parties will be able to bid for any of four lots, not limited to just one, including sub-projects of 242 MWp, 219 MWp, and 247 MWp, along with their electric substations. Together, the three PV parks will be referred to as the THEIA project.

Lot 4 is dedicated to power transmission assets, including the main transformer station and overhead lines. The plants will be connected to the existing 400-kV Slatina-Bucuresti overhead line owned by transmission system operator Transelectrica.

Letters of interest must be delivered in written form until April 18, 2024. The duration of the contracts to be awarded is two years.
