Global Power Plant Tenders Drop Down 30% In Q3 2019

Comparing tenders activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 255 tenders.

Generation equipment tenders in Q3 2019 saw 400 tenders announced, marking a drop of 36% over the last four-quarter average of 629, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

·Supply & Erection: 256 tenders and a 64% share

·Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 144 tenders and a 36% share.

·Asia-Pacific leads generation equipment activity in Q3 2019

Comparing tenders activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 255 tenders and a share of 63.8% during Q3 2019, followed by North America with 68 tenders and a 17% share and Middle East and Africa with 42 tenders and a 10.5% share.

Thermal is leading technology for generation equipment tenders in Q3 2019

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for 356 tenders with an 89.4% share, followed by solar with 19 tenders and a 4.8% share and hydro with 12 tenders and a 3% share.
