Constellation Technology Ventures Invests in Blue Energy to Advance Small Modular Nuclear Deployment

July 16, 2026 — Blue Energy, a developer of financeable, prefabricated nuclear power plants, announced a strategic equity investment from Constellation Technology Ventures, the venture arm of Constellation, the largest producer of clean energy in the United States and operator of the nation’s largest nuclear power plant fleet.

The investment is aimed at accelerating Blue Energy’s commercialization of a shipyard manufacturing and project financing model for new nuclear power. It also marks Constellation Technology Ventures’ first investment in a U.S. nuclear developer advancing small modular reactors.

Blue Energy said its strategy is designed to use shipyard manufacturing, project financing and proven reactor technology to make new nuclear development more predictable, faster and more affordable.

“With demand for near-term power rising, Constellation’s investment will help Blue Energy meet America’s need by making new nuclear development predictable, rapidly scalable, and project financeable for the first time in history,” said Jake Jurewicz, Blue Energy CEO and co-founder. “Together, we’re demonstrating that the future of nuclear energy isn’t a decade away and doesn’t take a leap of faith on technology or construction execution; it’s being built right now.”

David Dardis, Constellation senior executive vice president and chief external affairs and growth officer, said the investment supports efforts to accelerate advanced nuclear deployment in the United States.

“The Constellation Technology Ventures investment in Blue Energy supports its deployment plans for GE Vernova Hitachi’s BWRX-300, a proven technology with a potential path to scale for the next generation of nuclear energy,” Dardis said.

Blue Energy’s model seeks to address financing and deployment challenges in the nuclear industry. The company plans to use proven nuclear technology and large-format robotic prefabrication and assembly methods inspired by offshore oil and gas and LNG projects.

Earlier this year, Blue Energy said it raised $380 million and entered a strategic collaboration with GE Vernova to develop a multi-gigawatt gas-to-nuclear project using GE Vernova gas turbines and BWRX-300 small modular reactors. The company also said it recently secured a key U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing milestone to support its goal of delivering reliable power in 48 months or less through a phased gas-to-nuclear deployment strategy.

Blue Energy said it could begin early site work on its first planned project in Texas in 2026, with the aim of supporting a final investment decision in 2027.
