EH2 to Supply 100MW Electrolyzer to Texas Green Hydrogen Project

13 Sep 2023  by energynews
Electric Hydrogen (EH2) is set to play a crucial role in the development of green hydrogen in Texas, with plans to supply a massive 100MW electrolyzer system to New Fortress Energy’s ambitious project.

This Texas-based project is poised to become a green hydrogen powerhouse, aiming to churn out approximately 50 tonnes of green hydrogen daily using EH2’s advanced electrolyzer system. The project’s timeline is equally impressive, with the first hydrogen production slated for the fourth quarter of 2024 and full-scale commercial operation expected in 2025. Moreover, the system’s capacity can be scaled up to a whopping 200 MW in the future.

EH2 is hard at work manufacturing the 100MW electrolyzer systems at its facility in Devens, Massachusetts, while the balance-of-plant modules are being expertly fabricated in the heart of Texas. This ambitious endeavor aligns with EH2’s vision of contributing to the acceleration of green hydrogen, aiming for cost competitiveness with fossil fuels by the end of the decade.

Raffi Garabedian, CEO, and Co-Founder of EH2, expressed the company’s commitment to making a substantial impact on emissions reduction in various industrial sectors. He highlighted the importance of large-scale, low-cost green hydrogen production, a feat uniquely achievable with EH2’s cutting-edge technology.

EH2 is no newcomer to the green hydrogen scene. In 2021, the company announced plans to scale up its proprietary electrolysis technology, furthering its dedication to the widespread adoption of hydrogen in the United States. Founded by former executives from renewable energy giants First Solar and electric vehicle leader Tesla, EH2 brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the hydrogen market.
