Unigreen Energy Expects New Projects in S. Africa After Launching Solar Farm in Q1 2025

Unigreen Energy plans to launch its solar farm in South Africa in the first quarter of 2025 and expects new projects in the country, company CEO Igor Shakhrai said at the Russia-Africa summit.

"We will launch this [115-MW solar] farm next year, in the first quarter. We hope that we will also have other projects in South Africa," Shakhrai said.

"We began the work productively. I think that this is the first step for working in Africa," he said.

A company spokesman said later that construction of the solar farm in South Africa will begin in the first quarter of 2024, and it is scheduled for completion by the end of next year and expected to go into operation in the first quarter of 2025.

Unigreen Energy, the largest renewable energy company in Russia, is carrying out renewable energy projects in African countries, the CIS, Asia and Latin America. The company's portfolio of projects to build renewable generating facilities exceeds 1.5 GW.

Unigreen Energy LLC is 99.99% owned by Mikhail Sivoldayev's Ream Management LLC, the co-owner of Hevel Group.
