The EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) – MPD Consortium has signed a construction contract for a hybrid hydro-floating solar project at Ubol Ratana Dam in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand.

The project will ensure renewable energy stability for sustainability, driving the country to achieve carbon neutrality, according to a press release.

The 24 MW project at Ubol Ratana Dam (also called Ubolratana) on the Nam Phong River generates electricity from clean energy by using a hybrid system that combines solar power and hydropower along with a battery energy storage system (BESS) to help stabilize electricity generation from renewable energy.

The consortium partners consist of Mitr Phol Energy Services Co., Ltd., PEA ENCOM International Co., Ltd. and Dongfang Electric International Corporation (DEC).

Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT governor, said the project at Ubol Ratana Dam is a part of EGAT’s clean
