Framatome to Acquire Systus Software and Engineering Services From the ESI Group

19 Apr 2023

Framatome has announced the purchase of SYSTUS software and related engineering services from the ESI Group, a world-renowned supplier of simulation and virtual prototyping software. This acquisition, which represents euro 4.4 million in licenses and associated services and includes the transition of 27 new employees to Framatome, is scheduled to close April 28, 2023.

"Framatome is proud to work with ESI in the acquisition of software that will allow us to integrate recognized skills in mechanical calculations," said Alexis Marincic, senior executive vice president of the Engineering and Design Authority Business Unit at Framatome. "We're looking forward to investing in the safety and reliability of our customers' operations through this endeavor."

Through this agreement, Framatome builds on its expertise within its Technical and Engineering Department, thus accelerating the development of its Burgundy Calculation Center. Inaugurated on March 6, 2023, the Burgundy Calculation Center is set to become a spearhead for mechanical calculations for the nuclear industry in France. This facility, which carries out technical analyses in support of EDF and other operators, is expecting 150 total staff members by 2024.

The SYSTUS software is used in the nuclear industry to support the justification of the integrity of primary and secondary components such as the reactor vessel and steam generator. It is also used in the design, manufacturing and maintenance phases of other industrial components such as valves.
