Cadeler Invests in Høglund’s Tech to Greenify Its Offshore Wind Vessels

02 Mar 2023  by offshorewind
Danish wind farm installation vessel owner and operator Cadeler A/S has invested in Høglund Ship Performance Monitor (SPM) which could reduce fuel consumption and improve the environmental footprint of their two offshore wind vessels, Wind Osprey and Wind Orca.

“The Høglund SPM system will give us detailed insight on the efficiency of our engines. We are constantly looking for new technologies on how we can reduce emissions even further, and this new system will improve the performance of our O-class vessels,” said Kim Tribler, Head of Marine Operations in Cadeler.

SPM is an adaptable monitoring software, designed to help manage and improve efficiencies, and reduce the environmental footprint by providing accurate live data on fuel consumption, emissions, and vessel performance, said Høglund Marine Solutions AS.

All fuel and performance reports will be available for sharing with the office on shore, through a single, secure Cloud Platform, Høglund Connect.

According to AIS information available online, Wind Orca is currently working on the Moray East offshore wind farm.

On the other hand, Wind Osprey is currently at the Port of Rotterdam, according to the AIS data. The jack-up was installing Siemens Gamesa 11 MW wind turbines at the 1.5 GW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm.
