04 Feb 2023  by enerdata.net
The National Electricity Administration of Paraguay (ANDE), Paraguay's integrated power utility, and Canada's Neogreen Hydrogen Corporation have signed a contract to provide a connection service and supply of renewable electricity. The project will be divided into two phases and will require a minimum of 10 MW and a maximum of 75 MW for phase I, intended for the domestic supply of green hydrogen for industrial users in Paraguay. Phase II will require an additional 225 MW, for a total of 300 MW. The plant will be located in the Ciudad Presidente Dr. Manuel Franco, in the Department of Alto Paraná.

Paraguay has an installed capacity of 8.8 GW. Its capacity mix is almost entirely based on hydro, with a share of 100%.
