Enteligent Raises $7M to Fast-Track Optimization Tech and Solar EV Charger

02 Feb 2023  by solarmagazine.com

Enteligent, a developer of solar power optimization and solar EV charging technologies, raised $7 million to fast-track the commercialization of its proprietary solar optimization platform and DC-to-DC solar hybrid bi-directional EV charger.

By utilizing its proprietary solar optimization technology, Enteligent believes it will be able to change how customers produce and function with solar energy. Not only does the technology provide intelligent panel-level monitoring to maintain maximum solar production, but its rapid shutdown safety capability will ensure local delivery and use of electricity is both fast and secure. This optimization technology can increase energy output by up to 13%.

Most EVs today are charged overnight via a traditional power grid. The rapid increase in EV adoption is creating a strain on the grid's ability to meet the exponential growth in energy demand. Enteligent's proprietary solar EV chargers expedite a shift to solar-based daytime charging by taking DC electricity directly from solar and eliminating unnecessary DC to AC to DC conversions, resulting in reportedly up to 25% in energy savings caused by the conversions.

Like the principle of grid-tied residential solar systems, Enteligent's solar EV chargers can be powered simultaneously by the AC grid to satisfy the charging demand and provide peace-of-mind charge continuity while lowering overall charging time and cost.

This financing included investments by several strategic investors such as NOVA, the venture arm of Saint-Gobain, one of the world's largest building materials companies, and Taronga Ventures, one of the world's leading real asset technology investors, as well as other strategic investors.

"Enteligent's DC-input EV charger provides a step-change in the energy efficiency and price-point of EV fast chargers, which is needed to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in commercial assets," said Avi Naidu, Managing Partners at Taronga Ventures.

"Our vision is to deliver technology that solves the near-term electrification challenges stemming from the EV revolution—ubiquitous daytime EV charging, everywhere you park, with efficient use of clean, on-site generated solar electricity," commented Sean Burke, Founder and CEO of Enteligent.
