To ensure a stable energy supply during low-carbon transition, Singapore and Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) for liquified natural gas cooperation.

Whilst there is an MOC that reaffirms the two nations’ commitment to boost LNG supply as governments move to low-carbon alternatives.

The memorandum will also build the previous MOC on low emissions solutions which was signed in February.

Both nations will expand areas of cooperation such as promoting investments on the LNG value chain, discussing the LNG as transition fuel, and knowledge sharing on climate reporting in the LNG supply chain.

Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng and Japan’s Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi signed the MOC at the 2022 Singapore International Energy Week.
