China-based PV panel materials and N-type mono module manufacturer Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co, has signed a deal to deliver 320MW of its N-type bifacial solar modules to a plant being built by Chinese firm Shanghai Electric in Dubai.

Jolywood is due to complete its delivery of the modules in two stages scheduled for the second half of 2020 and the beginning of 2022, respectively. The project is due to supply power to Dubai Expo 2020, a colossal, 173-day event set to welcome 190 participating countries, and millions of visitors from across the globe.

It will be Jolywood's largest overseas N-type bifacial power plant project, marking a significant milestone for the manufacturer that builds on the success of last year's delivery to SPIC's 100MW Sihong TopRunner project.

Jolywood's N-type high-efficiency technology equips the modules with lower degradation and better temperature coefficient, making them suitable for use in the Middle East, said Xiaobin Cao, deputy general manager of Shanghai Electric.

"Through joint efforts, we aim to take the development of renewable energy to another level by setting a new benchmark for the industry," said Weijian Lin, chairman of Jolywood Group. "Looking forward, Jolywood will continue to bring renewable energy to the world as part of China's Belt and Road initiative."

Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co, is the PV module manufacturing arm of major PV backsheet manufacturer Jolywood (Suzhou) Sunwatt Co.
