Danish offshore experts Orsted have installed the first substation topsides for the Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farms.
The installation followed nearly 2,000 days of efforts, beginning with the initial investigations in 2016.
The offshore substation topsides are for the Greater Changhua 1 & 2a Offshore Wind Farms, Taiwan’s first large scale and far-shore wind farms.
The topsides were manufactured by Keppel and installed by Hereema.
This project marks the end of the transport and installation phase and leaves both offshore substations ready for the upcoming offshore commissioning phase before the first power of the wind farm comes online in 2022.
