Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has broken ground on a 10-MWp solar project in northern Germany for customer GS Solar GmbH & Co KG.

The Gross Siemz solar power plant is being built on an 11-hectare (27.2 acres) area near the city Schoenberg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

In addition to being in charge of the design, engineering, procurement and construction of the facility, Canadian Solar will supply more than 22,900 pieces of its mono-PERC modules. Upon completion of the solar park in October 2020, Canadian Solar will also provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

The completed photovoltaic (PV) power plant will be able to produce some 10 GWh of electricity per year.
