Kangwon Province Concentrates Efforts on Hydropower Station Projects

Kangwon Province is pressing on with the construction of hydropower stations.
According to information available, it excavated over 12 000 metres of waterway tunnels and piled well over a million cubic metres of earth this year, while speeding up the construction of generator rooms.
Kosong and Hoeyang counties have done a great deal of work after making a breakthrough for accelerating dam building projects by carrying out 100 000-, 300 000- and 700 000-cubic-metre blastings this year.
In particular, Phyonggang County finished the excavation for foundations of a dam and carried out the banking plan at 80 percent. The construction of a generator room is also being carried on simultaneously.
