April 17 - Spanish renewables contractor Global Energy Services (GES) announced it is installing 205 MW of turbines for a Spanish wind park owned by the renewables unit of General Electric.

GE Renewable Energy has contracted GES to install 54 turbines as part of the Valdejalon wind farm cluster. The Spanish firm will operate the crane and will also be in charge of the balance of plant (BoP) works.

The contract covers a total of five wind parks located in the autonomous community of Aragon -- El Cabezo, Portillo II.I, Portillo II.II and Virgen de Rodanas I and II -- which are schedule to be completed during November of this year.

GES has added more than 1.1 GW to its project installation portfolio in 2019, including jobs in Spain, Mexico, France and Greece. It also signed contracts for over 1 GW in BoP construction activity in Spain, Mexico and Chile, it said.
