Aug. 11, 2026 — Altea Green Power (AGP.MI) said the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has authorized a new 80 MW battery energy storage system project in Piedmont.
The project, known as RPC Castelnuovo, will be located in the municipality of Castelnuovo Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria. The company said the authorization strengthens its development pipeline for battery energy storage systems and confirms its ability to manage multiple permitting processes in parallel.
The approval follows the authorization of a 60 MW project in Vignole Borbera in April. Altea Green Power said the two projects demonstrate the effectiveness of its structured framework for BESS initiatives and its capacity to bring authorization procedures to completion.
Giovanni Di Pascale, chief executive of Altea Green Power, said the latest authorization confirms the company’s progress following the Vignole Borbera project and highlights the team’s execution capabilities.
“This result consolidates our presence in a territory we consider strategic for the development of storage systems, in line with our strategy of strengthening our presence in Northern Italy,” Di Pascale said, adding that the area offers favorable market conditions in terms of profitability for end investors.
Altea Green Power, founded in 2008 and based in Rivoli near Turin, develops renewable energy projects and builds green energy plants, including photovoltaic, wind and storage facilities. The company is listed on the Italian Stock Exchange’s STAR segment and also operates as an independent power producer focused on renewable sources and as a provider of engineering, procurement and construction services.
