Vattenfall has inaugurated the 139MW Bruzaholm wind farm near Eksjö municipality in Sweden, which is expected to generate 460GW-hours of electricity annually.

The onshore wind farm began construction in the summer of 2023 and marks a step forward in providing fossil-free electricity for industry, businesses and households in southern Sweden.
Under a long-term power purchase agreement, Volvo will receive around half of the wind farm’s output. The agreement will help Volvo secure electricity for its Swedish operations including a planned battery facility in Mariestad.
The Bruzaholm wind farm covers approximately 13km² and utilises 21 wind turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa. Each of the turbines has a rated capacity of 6.6MW, a height of 240m and a rotor diameter of 170m.
The wind farm also features a battery storage facility comprising 60 modules from Fluence. The battery will deliver 38MW of output and has a storage capacity of 38MW-hours to support grid stability and flexible power use.
