Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 23rd that it signed a contract with an Oceania-based shipping company for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers worth 770.1 billion Korean won.
This follows the company’s consecutive orders for three LNG carriers after the 20th. The total value of the three orders amounts to 1.15 trillion Korean won.
With this, Samsung Heavy Industries’ cumulative orders for this year have reached a total of 14 vessels, valued at $2.9 billion, achieving 21% of its annual order target of $13.9 billion.
By vessel type, the orders include six LNG carriers, two ethane carriers, two container ships, and four crude oil carriers.
