Denmark’s Thor offshore wind farm has delivered electricity to the national grid for the first time, marking a significant commissioning milestone for what will become the country’s largest offshore wind project
The project recorded its first electricity generation on 17 March 2026, marking a major milestone in the development of Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. The initial turbine has now begun exporting power as installation progresses across the site.
Located in the Danish North Sea, the project continues to advance according to plan. Turbine installation is underway, with further units scheduled to be commissioned as construction proceeds.
Once fully operational in 2027, the wind farm is expected to supply clean energy to more than one million homes. This achievement reinforces Denmark’s expanding offshore wind portfolio and supports national clean-power goals.
