In the collaboration, Encore was responsible for project origination, development, and design, while GreenSpark Solar served as the construction partner, providing procurement and turnkey EPC execution services. Encore will own these projects long-term as the power producer. Tony D’Ambra, Director of EPC Execution at GreenSpark Solar, stated: "This agrivoltaic community solar portfolio demonstrates what is possible when two teams collaborate based on their respective strengths. Encore brings expertise in site development and community engagement, and we focus on efficient execution and high-quality construction."
Blake Sturcke, CEO of Encore Renewable Energy, noted: "Delivering affordable, responsible renewable energy projects requires strong partnerships. GreenSpark has demonstrated their expertise in the construction of these agrivoltaic community solar projects, delivering cost savings and reliable clean energy to ratepayers in Vermont and New York."
The Constable Solar project, compensated for its power output by NYSEG under New York's NY-Sun and VDER programs, provides affordable carbon-free energy. Located on land managed by the Sirois family, it converts a former hayfield into an agrivoltaic site, with vegetation managed through sheep grazing.
The Boardman Hill Solar project was approved through Vermont's Competitive Standard Offer program, receiving its Certificate of Public Good in January 2023. It utilizes a tracker system and incorporates sheep grazing for agrivoltaic vegetation management.
The Danyow Solar project incorporates a skid-based inverter solution from CPS America, with pre-assembled equipment enhancing installation efficiency. The project has received permission to interconnect and is undergoing phased energization, with agrivoltaic planning also moving forward.
