The energy storage system has a capacity of 150 MW/150 MWh. It was commissioned and began operation in June 2023 through a collaboration between ENGIE Australia (as the majority owner) and Eku Energy. The project has been operating stably for two and a half years, effectively supporting grid reliability in Victoria. With this acquisition of the minority stake previously held by Eku Energy, ENGIE now holds 100% ownership of the project. Eku Energy stated that this equity sale aligns with its long-term strategy of focusing on assets within its portfolio where it holds controlling stakes and operates them, dedicating itself to developing safe and reliable energy storage projects globally. Currently, Eku Energy's development pipeline worldwide (including in the UK, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan) comprises over 50 projects.
