ConnectDER's Key Device Approved to Accelerate Residential PV and Energy Storage Deployment

Recently, ConnectDER, a provider of distributed energy connection solutions, announced that its latest device, IslandDER, has been approved for use by Arizona's three major utility companies: Arizona Public Service (APS), Tucson Electric Power (TEP), and Salt River Project (SRP). This move will significantly simplify the installation process for residential photovoltaic systems, home energy storage batteries, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the state, reducing both installation costs and time.

ConnectDER's plug-and-play meter socket adapter can be directly connected to outdoor meter sockets. This avoids the time-consuming and labor-intensive main panel upgrades, full system replacements, or circuit modifications required in traditional installations, saving installers and end-users significant cost and time.

As the state with the third-largest residential solar capacity in the U.S., Arizona currently has a battery attachment rate as high as approximately 47%, indicating strong demand for home energy storage. These approvals will further promote the development of virtual power plants and energy storage, supporting grid resilience.
