Volvo's ECR355 provides a 7% increase in lifting capacity as compared to earlier models.
The new model delivers up to 7% better fuel savings compared with its predecessor, thanks to an advanced electro-hydraulic system, redesigned main control valve, and on-demand electric cooling fans. Additional efficiency features include selectable engine work modes, hydraulic priority settings, Comfort Driving Control, and automatic engine shutdown.
Lifting capacity has increased by 7% and tractive force by 4%. The optional Volvo Active Control system automates boom and bucket movements, speeding up grading tasks by up to 45% when used with Dig Assist 2D/3D applications and integrated boundary limits.
Service intervals are extended to 1,000 hours for engine oil and 3,000 hours for hydraulic oil, with all routine checks accessible from ground level and quick-drain ports for faster maintenance.
Volvo CE global product manager Jaesu Kim said: "When designing any new product, we wanted to keep the interest of our operators at heart. The improved productivity within the ECR355 creates an unrivalled comfortable working environment across long shifts."
Kim added: "Inside the cab, operators will also find 50% better in-cab cooling performance, reduced noise levels due to new electric fans, and a host of modern conveniences, including Bluetooth connectivity, wireless phone charging, extensive storage solutions, and a two-stage filtration system for cleaner air."
Safety and visibility are enhanced by the Smart View system, which combines panoramic cameras with radar-based obstacle detection, while CareTrack telematics and ActiveCare monitoring provide real-time machine health updates and predictive maintenance alerts.
The spacious cab offers 20% more interior room than previous Volvo short swing models, precision joystick controls, customisable switch layout, responsive electric travel pedals, and a tiltable left console for easier entry and exit. A lifetime frame warranty covers the structure, boom, and arm.
The ECR355 is immediately available for order, with customer deliveries starting in early 2026.
